Guardian 60 push-button Simonis Voogd launched
Last month, Holmatro Marine commissioned “Sundays Child”, a full push-button 60ft sailing yacht.

This full-carbon sailing yacht, a Guardian 60, was designed by Simonis-Voogd, and built in Holland. Holmatro installed 6 hydraulic cylinders, including the vang. Together with the hydraulic power-pack and the PLC, this yacht has full hydraulic push-button control. The Guardian 60 has a double helm position, with all buttons on both sides.

The helmsman can easily and accurately control all functions, while the PLC software avoids operator errors and can allow certain priorities. This will allow this yacht to be sailed in maximum comfort with a minimal crew.
This Guardian 60 is equipped with a rotatable wing mast. To rotate this mast, 2 hydraulic cylinders are installed, that act together to create an optimised entry angle of the wind on the rig. A good cooperation between the designer, the mast manufacturer and Holmatro resulted in a flawless commissioning. The knowledge and experience that has been built, will further be used to expand into similar projects all around the world. This yacht proves that Holmatro is ready for its future..
