Hall Spars and Holmatro: a perfect match

When Holmatro started developing marine products, Hall Spars & Rigging was one of the first clients to purchase them. Marnix Lippens, project manager at Hall Spars in Breskens, the Netherlands, says "Hall Spars was very confident in Holmatro, because of the years of experience they had with rescue and industrial equipment. The quality and service Holmatro has delivered proves that we made the right choice. Holmatro's mast jacks, for example, are simply the best." This level of quality fits in with Hall Spars' motto "we don't want to make the most masts, but we want to make the best masts." Not only does Hall Spars & Rigging have a lot of confidence in Holmatro; their clients do as well, specifically asking for Holmatro products. According to Marnix Lippens "this is because Holmatro is a strong brand with a good reputation of quality providing a high level of service. Occasionally, it happens that a boomvang needs a bit more return pressure then we had predicted in advance. Holmatro always responds very quickly and sends someone to adjust the pressure in the boom vang."

Hall Spars uses Holmatro products, such as hydraulic mast jacks, boom vangs, backstay adjusters, outhaul cylinders and sometimes control panels and rigging cutters, depending on their clients' needs. Mast jacks are mounted upside down inside the mast and are used to lift the mast in order to pre-tension the rig. Hall Spars also has an electric pump of Holmatro in their service van to use in combination with the mast jacks. This pump is used to lift the mast on board large yachts to perform service.

About Hall Spars & Rigging

Hall Spars was founded in the United States in 1980 and, because they wanted to serve the European market, acquired the Breskens factory in 2001. This is when the first carbon masts were made in Breskens. Recently, Hall Spars & Rigging has acquired a factory in New Zealand to serve the Oceania market. The company mostly produces complete racing and custom-made carbon rigs. Hall Spars & Rigging in the Netherlands exports mainly to Spain, Italy, Finland and France for builders such as Baltic, Nautor, Seaway and Van Dam along with several Spanish and Italian racing yacht builders. The US factory provides spars and booms for their domestic market as well as very large spars that exceed the Dutch factorys capacity for the European market.
