The Class Extreme 40 is composed in 2009 of 10 boats with exactly the same design and equipment.

It was obvious, concerning equipment and fittings that Holmatro was the official supplier of winches and hydraulics. These Formula 1 of the seas need the best current technology to maximise their potential, for cut-throat regattas in hard wind conditions. The sails regulation and more particularly the one for the mainsail becomes very hard faced to heavy loads trained by the wind which gives the pressure more powerfull.
